2015 Health Insurance for Washington State
We are now most of the way through 2014, but I wanted to stay ahead of the curve with an update on 2015 Health Insurance plans.
OPEN ENROLLMENT: Starting November 15th for a January 1st 2015 start date and Ending on February 15th
The good news is that Exchange Plans will have a wider network of doctors (www.wahealthplanfinder.org)
Even better news is that they are estimated to cost only about 3% more next year.
Mike Kreidler the Insurance Commissioner mandated that ALL Exchange plans have to cover 80% of doctors within a 30 mile radius (60 miles in rural areas). This will dramatically improve the doctors networks, but only to some extent. The Traditional Plans (outside the Exchange) will ALWAYS have the broadest network of doc’s. (Feel free to ask me why).
