Health Insurance & Credit Scores
Many of my health insurance clients ask about Credit Repair and if their health insurance plan will help improve their credit or they’re not sure if they “qualify” since they have a low score. The good news is that your credit score is NOT impacted by paying for health insurance and failing to pay the premiums on your policy simply mean your coverage ends. The bad news is that if your policy lapses, then you can’t get coverage again until January 1st of 2017.
On the WA Exchange and getting Tax Credits you have 3 months max to make premium payments. If on the Exchange (without tax credits) or Direct you usually have a max of 30 days before they cancel you for non-payment of premiums.
