Clients, I wanted to send you a News Alert regarding Premera & LifeWise about a cyber attack on May 5th 2014, yet was found out on January 29th 2015.
The good news is that they have a specific list of people impacted. So you will very quickly be able to find out if your information was breached. For updates you can check

1. For those of you impacted, Premera will be providing 2 years of Experian credit monitoring (which is checked on a daily basis).
2. Those impacted will be getting a letter in the mail (which was mailed out on March 17th).
3. Call 800-768-5817 to determine if you have been impacted.
4. Premera is working with Mandiant, one of the world’s leading cyber security firms, to investigate the attack and cleanse Premera’s IT system of the infection created by the attack. Additional steps are being taken to strengthen and enhance their security IT systems moving forward.
What information may have been accessed?
The attackers gained access to Premera’s IT systems and may have gained access to your personal information. That information could include name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, Social Security number, medical claims information and bank account information. At this time there is no evidence to date that such data has been used inappropriately. We’re taking three key steps to address this situation.
