Accident Policies We only sell products we believe in that provide a specific need for coverage. Here is a very personal example of how the Accident Plans with LifeSecure work and why we sell this great product.

An Accident Policy is great for these type of people:

  • You have an active lifestyle or kids in sports
  • Blue collar workers (or higher risk of injury jobs)
  • People that get injured more often for a variety of reasons

My LifeSecure Accident Claim

This is Tamara Chandler giving a real life example of how this accident insurance policy really paid off for my family! We purchased an Accident Policy from LifeSecure for my family of four in January 2018.  Both of my children are active kids, love to skateboard, play sports and both have broken their arms in previous years.  It isn’t a stretch for me to understand that accidents happen. To save money on monthly insurance premiums we have high deductible health insurance policies, yet bought this accident policy to cover the high deductible. A win/win way to save money and have great coverage! On November 19, 2018, my daughter Carolyn was playing in her league’s soccer championship at a nearby high school.  The rest of the family was in the stands for the first half, then our 16-year-old son Michael said he wanted to walk around.  The second half of the game began, and Michael did not return.  After a little while I decided to get a water bottle from the car, where I found Michael with bloody knees and said his wrist was bothering him. He tried to skateboard down the stairs.  “Do you think it’s broken? Do you want to get it checked?”  I said.  “Nah, I’m OK. I just want to stay in the car”, he said. The next morning Michael woke up and said, “My wrist hurts. Can we get it checked?” My kids know the rule about injuries, we need to seek care within 3 days (72 hours) of an injury (for the LifeSecure policy to payout, otherwise an injury can become more serious). He knew we shouldn’t wait to get care. We spent the next two hours at the nearest Urgent Care center for an exam and x-rays. We learned that he had broken a bone in his wrist, perhaps in the growth plate and we would need to see an orthopedic specialist. I scheduled an appointment at Seattle Children’s Hospital for the next day. The pediatric orthopedist reviewed the x-rays and confirmed the break, ordered casting and Michael was sent home with a lovely black cast and an appointment to return in four weeks. When we returned Michael had another set of x-rays and we got the good news that his wrist was healed. I filled out the LifeSecure Claim form with the first of three bills. Then uploaded them to the LifeSecure member portal. I then sent the next two bills as they came through from Seattle Children’s Hospital. With each upload I called member services to confirm the files were received. Payments were deposited directly into my checking account 7-10 days after each bill was submitted.

  • The Medical Costs were = $750
  • LifeSecure’s Total Reimbursed for Michael’s Accident = $650
  • Our Responsibility = $100 per incident deductible

It costs us $59.28/mo for the Accident Plan. For active families like mine it definitely pays off! FOLLOW UP: And the saga continues, recently Carolyn was playing soccer with her friends and fell hard on the turf so we’re off to Urgent Care. Good thing we have a $12,500 family maximum benefit for the year…

  • The Medical Cost were = $683.87
  • LifeSecure Total Reimbursement for Carolyn’s Accident = $414.18
  • Our Responsibility = $100 deductible + 3rd x-ray = $269.29

By purchasing an Accident Insurance plan we saved $1,064.18 in 2018. We just hope for 2019 we don’t need to use it as much, fingers crossed!
